Habitation Layouts

The habitation layouts in the explorer differ most depending on whether you want a 2 or 4 berth model. Both of these models come with a twin rear lounge arrangement as standard and can have an optional U lounge or an elevated rear lounge with integral garage and up and over rear door. Your choice is really about how you want to prioritise the use of space. The Explorer 2 in twin and U lounge options provides the largest amount of space for cooking, hanging and overhead storage and is a popular choice for couples who only have themselves and their comfort in mind.

The Explorer 4 in twin and U lounge options provides the all important additional sleeping and travelling capacity for young families and offers an innovative counter top cooker and additional work surface options. This layout maximises your storage and living space creating two flexible lounge areas.

The Explorer 2 or 4 with the elevated lounge option provides a safe and secure garage space for transport of valuable leisure equipment, or for those with larger carrying capacity needs. The garage is accessed from an RP exclusive up and over rear door that provides protection from the elements for you and your cargo. The elevated lounge in either the 2 or 4 berth configuration is a fantastic airy vantage point to view your chosen location or retreat after a hard days play.

Daytime

Explorer 2 with Twin Rear Lounge

This is the standard layout for the Explorer 2 and maximise worksurface and storage spaces. The drainer on the back of the sink cover clips into position on the end fold-up worksurface as shown. The front cockpit table and large rear table options are shown too.

Explorer 4 with U Rear Lounge

The Explorer 4 has a twin lounge as standard but the U lounge provides a bit more versatility and comfort when it comes to relaxing and putting your feet up. The kitchen is also redesigned for the Explorer 4 with a counter top oven and an under counter fridge. This maximise the kitchen space, especially when the fold-up and under cooker pull-out worksurfaces are used, as shown below. The lounge areas at the front and rear are shown with typical table arrangements.

Explorer 2 with Elevated Rear Lounge

To make the most of the elevated lounge position, the kitchen layout is changed for the Explorer 2 to match the Explorer 4. This makes use of the higher worksurface above the oven as it is the perfect height for use from the elevated lounge. The garage below the lounge is accessed from lift up bed frames or doors in the sides of the lounge steps. The sink has its cover fitted and all temporary work-surfaces are folded away showing the space available for free movement.

Sleeping

Explorer 2 with U Rear Lounge

All of the rear lounge options have pull across bed frames that convert the twin, U, or elevated lounge into a double bed. There are some minor differences in bed size for the elevated lounge bed due to the raised height of the bed and the shape of the vehicle.

Explorer 4 with Elevated Rear Lounge

The front sleeping comprises of a cabin bed that lowers from the roof of the front cab and a bed made up from the extending +2 travelling seat. The elevated rear lounge bed dimensions show the slight reduction in overall double bed width.

Storage

Explorer 2 with U Rear Lounge

The U and twin rear lounge options for the Explorer 2 provide identical and ample overhead storage cupboards.

Explorer 4 with Twin Rear Lounge

Both the twin and U lounge options for the Explorer 4 have identical overhead storage cupboards as shown here.

Explorer 2 with Elevated Rear Lounge

The elevated rear lounge transforms the storage space in the Explore 2 and 4. Shown here is the garage space in the Explorer 2 with either overhead shelving or cupboards making use of any head height storage. The dimensions of the garage are shown here and are identical for the 2 or 4 berth models.
